Match 5 Round Up: Business As Usual for Pinter

2nd May 2025

Goooood Morning Pin Tumblers. Demi Moore here from PLB Weekly, fresh off the back of another insatiable night of pin crushing.

After a monstrous pre-game call out the stage was set for a 5 way head to head between some of PLB’s biggest names. It was close across both games but the headline act never really delivered on the headline scores it promised. Pin fans around the world are already calling for a rematch after being bitterly disappointed to see No Show show up but swiftly leave for a medical emergency halfway through Game 1.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the No Show family but we have no doubt he might show up again in the future.

Elsewhere on the lanes sparks were flying. Bazooka gobbled a turkey in Game 1 and nearly blew the entire league away with another in Game 2 – only to leave one solitary pin standing. He’ll be having nightmares about that cheeky one for weeks.

All eyes were on the Milanese who continued their incredible resurgence at this late stage in the season. It can only be put down to one thing – The Tickler. A leader of bowlers, a murderer of pins. The Tickler’s aggressive coaching style and unquenchable thirst for pints has brought back bowling displays that would remind your granny of the Pinter Invincibles season of 2023. Old time reservist Sweaty T got a run out making a mark with a wealth of spares in game 1 before drinking too many lagers. That didn’t matter though. It was a true team display scoring over 800 in both games thanks to the infamous hold up play of Zlatz. The big burley Swede led the line well and put up a jaw dropping score in Game 2 to give Pinter an overwhelming victory on the night.

Victory was made all the more sweet thanks to a usually quiet Riders lane. Billbowls got in his own head, 2 shoes rolled it slowly and Balbert continued to miss the mark. Questions will be asked once again as Riders continue to throw away their early lead in the Season.

Davey Slapz is still missing. Last seen scoring back to back 80s, the haggard old bowler decided the team would be better off without him and insisted they play Sticky. A disappointing end to a once glamorous career.

The Rohirrim will be wondering if it would have been different with The Don – the answer is yes.

PLB’s new team donned a new kit. After a lot of hype, it turned out to be a bit beige. We’re looking forward to seeing the Rangers pick up a few badges across the season but an inconsistent team sheet and inconsistent scoring is going to be high on the list of things to sort when Brittany Spares returns from getting hitched.

The less said about PCR the better. Without Renegade and still no sign of lil chicken J-Money, the Rollers were subjected to Tomahawk as captain who seemed more interested in drinking beer from his own pocket than hitting pins.

The reigning champs now looking like they might drop out of the Top 3 this season as the King Pins continue to grow in confidence. Going into the finale, only 6 points separates the two teams. What a story it would be if PLB’s underdogs could sneak ahead of the oil tycoons in Pin City. We may even see the return of Werner Splitz.

As usual though it comes down to a tale of two teams. The Riders of Rowans and the bad boys of bowling, PLB’s very own Uruk-hai – Pinter Milan. A 30 point lead for Pinter going into the finale. Some are already getting a 4th star printed on their shirts but can Tickler’s boys bring it home?

Tune in next time to find out.

Back to you in the studio.
