Premier League Bowling

Altitude or attitude?

3rd May 2022

The latest PLB news, reported by our Austrian bowling editor, Guhtter Bawl.

With the dust now firmly settled after the dramatic 8 point swing at last Thursday’s Premier League Bowling, questions have surfaced over whether the increased altitude of top floor bowls negatively impacted the Riders’ performance.

Their attitude was also called into question by a source close to Pinter Milan: “the Riders boys have shown a real disregard for the seriousness of the competition, and it’s clear this caught up with them. With such inconsistent team selection, their recruitment can only be described as erratic - neither are qualities needed for continued success in the league.”

For neutrals, the disparity in attitude was most clearly demonstrated by the fact that only one team had bothered to dress for the occasion. The Pinter Milenese fielded compliments from left, right and centre. Not just the aesthetic quality of their garb, but also the standard of sponsors the team had ensnared. Buoyed by the new look, the black and blues fired themselves to two full house 100+ games setting themselves up for a solid Tiger Woods-esque charge on the final day.

Given the now closely fought run into the championship, the 4 game finale is likely to come down to a test of stamina; mental, physical, financial, and most important consumable as it’s likely the game will reach double digit pints before halfway.

As excitement grows, fans throughout London are rumoured to be closing off the 5 and 6 of May to ensure they can witness, and pay homage to, what is likely to be one of the greatest contests in British sporting history.
