A Q&A with 2 Shoes

5th May 2022

After last night’s intimate chat with The Tickler we hopped over the lane for a sit down with Riders’ captain, Davie 2 Shoes. In stark contrast to The Tickler’s welcoming hospitality and calm, measured responses we were met with a mix of humility and hostility from the opinionated Rider. In an interview that strongly resembled his bowling, 2 Shoes’ responses were a total split - there were moments of confidence interrupted by utter chaos. Some may put this down to a lack of media experience but for a seasoned professional like 2 Shoes we know this simply isn’t the case. These erratic responses point to a man reeling from a recent defeat which could suggest a rattled mindset within the Riders camp.

1. The Riders had a considerably lacklustre performance in their last outing. What went wrong?

"Last Thursday was a big shock to us all. Any team can have an off day. Despite some ‘good’ bowling from Balbert and Davey Slapz in the first game, we failed to build upon that and when you're up against a team like Pinter you can’t make any mistakes. I was also made aware of Guhtter Bawl’s recent article on the Riders and would have thought the experienced editor would not so easily believe lane gossip."

**PLB Fact Checker - A two-time winner of International Correspondent of the Year, Guhtter Bawl has had a long and illustrious career in tenpin journalism, never once having his impartiality questioned.**

2. Key player Davy Slapz is missing for the season finale. Normally the first name on the team sheet - how is this affecting team selection?

"Losing Davy Slapz is a blow, he is a key player for Riders and his contributions this season have put us in a commanding position. However with Davy out this means that we can utilise our full squad and also call upon Morro ‘Moz’ Morrison after his successful loan spell in Amsterdam. I’d also like to finally address the stories circulating about Davy Slapz and his supposed transfer as laughable, he’s got far too much patter to play for Pinter."

**PLB Fact Checker - We reached out directly to Davy Slapz to verify these claims. Slapz declined to comment.**

3. A big 4 framer coming up in May. How is morale in the Riders camp and will you be altering tactics for such a lengthy match up?

"Riders team spirit in camp has never been stronger...in fact the mood in the squad is the best it’s ever been, surpassing that of the Surrey Quays win mid season. The marathon season finale means that all is to play for and it promises to be an outstanding exhibition of bowling showmanship. No matter what game we will keep to our tactics of striking those pins with a panache and sense of fun unseen on the lanes of North London until now."

**PLB Fact Checker - Whilst there is no doubt about the capability of the Riders of Rowan's, their bowling style has never once been described as 'fun'. Pundits across the globe regularly refer to it as "Route 1", "Long Ball" and "Simply Boring".**

Well, make of that what you will folks. One thing's for sure though, the Riders captain will regret this in the morning. An interview for the history books, yes, but a double gutter ball for Davie 2 Shoes.
